## The *differences* that matter.

Side-by-side on the things that actually differ, with a plain answer at the top of each rather than thirty rows of feature ticks. Every table says when it was last verified, because these terms change.

### About these comparisons

##### How current are the fees and terms in these comparisons?

Each comparison page carries the date its figures were last checked. Marketplace fee structures and royalty policies have changed repeatedly since 2022, so treat any number older than a few months as worth re-checking at the source before you act on it. [Corrections are welcome](https://thenftacademy.com/contact).

##### Are these comparisons sponsored?

No. No marketplace, wallet or platform on these pages pays for placement, and none of them can buy a better verdict. The only affiliate relationships on this site are on course links, which [the disclosure page sets out in full](https://thenftacademy.com/disclosure).

##### Which NFT marketplace has the lowest fees?

Blur charges no marketplace fee, against roughly 2.5% at OpenSea and about 2% at Magic Eden. But fees are usually the wrong thing to optimise: liquidity matters more, because a slightly higher fee on a sale that happens beats no fee on a sale that doesn’t. [The full comparison is here](https://thenftacademy.com/compare/nft-marketplaces).

##### Should I use a software wallet or a hardware wallet?

Both, for different jobs. A software wallet such as MetaMask or Rainbow is what you connect to sites with; a hardware wallet such as Ledger or Trezor holds anything valuable and never connects to anything. The separation is the point. [The wallet comparison explains the split](https://thenftacademy.com/compare/crypto-wallets).
